Offered at Highland Community College, Illinois Valley Community College, Kishwaukee Community College, and Sauk Valley Community College.
- High School Equivalency (HSE) Preparation and Testing
- English Language Acquisition classes for non-native English Speakers
- Citizenship, Spanish HSE, and Family Literacy also offered.
- Adult Basic Education – classes designed to assist students in the areas of Math, Reading, and Language
- Bridge to Healthcare and Manufacturing courses – designed to assist students with career awareness, vocabulary development, critical thinking, computer literacy, and workplace skills to transition into post-secondary education.

Sauk Valley Community College – Adult Education
The Adult Education Program at Sauk Valley Community College provides free education services to students who are 17 years of age or older. To participate, students may not be enrolled in high school, nor have previously earned their U.S. High School Equivalency certificate.
Services provided
• GED High School Equivalency test preparation
• English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for students who are not native English speakers
• Literacy tutoring
• Citizenship services
• Transition to college and career assistance
